e.l.f. Studio Lengthening and Volumizing Mascara
I saw these mascara's on Eyes Lips Face's website for only $3.00 each! I thought that maybe if these were good staple products, I could pack my kit with them and use them on my clients. I decided to try them out for the first time the other day and film my first reactions to them for my blog/YouTube channel.

I like and dislike the E.L.F. Studio Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara, but I will be repurchasing them.

Why I like this product:
- This mascara really is good at separating and lengthening the lashes
- This mascara is great for the bottom lashes, especially if you have long lashes
- It's an inexpensive product that I can buy in bulk for my makeup kit

Why I dislike this product:
- The handle is too long - it feels almost like you're using a sample sized wand
- The mascara is not voluminous as it is advertised to be
- The mascara completely flattened my curled lashes - but it could have also been the curler I used (not sure yet)
- The brown mascara doesn't come out as brown as I had hoped it would

With all that said - I would definitely recommend this to people looking for a great and inexpensive bottom lash mascara (I personally use a different mascara for my bottom lashes all the time) and for people looking for a lengthening mascara.

I think the Mineral Infused Mascara is MUCH better. It's compared, almost, to the High Impact Mascara from Clinique...it smoothly coated my lashes with no lumps just the same. And the price difference is insane.

hmm i should try that. i been using the clinique mascara for a while.

Blush DOs and DON'Ts
Hey elf luvers! I am a new elf customers but I am in love with the products and the prices!

I have been trying some new - WEARING BLUSH! I wanted to get some tips and tricks from fellow makeup lovers.

A little about myself...22yrs old, African American(deep skin tone) and I normally sport the natural look. But feel free to leave blush tips for all skin tones, it my help a fellow elf lover :)

SMILE...this makes the 'apples' of your cheeks pop out and helps you apply blush in the right place.
TAP your brush...this way you won't accidentally have streaks of too much color, which are awkward and hard to correct.

Also, I haven't tried it yet, but I think the e.l.f. shimmering facial whips and all-over cover sticks look awesome and easier than traditional blushes. I think the 'pink lemonade' and 'toasted' colors are reviews as the best.

The cream eyeliner is to die for! Super silky and the brush made a PERFECT line. All their eyeliners are really great. The SPF 45 powder is very nice and I am using the Tinted Moisturizer as a foundation. I am in love with this makeup line.

Yea, I love the tinted moisturizer too!

Studio SPF 45 UVA/UVB Powder: It's finely milled-feels like flour. Very light on my very oily skin!
I got this the other day and its really good. I wear sunscreen with an spf of 15 or higher depending on the season. I have oily but light-medium skin colour and I'm crazy for sunscreen protection! I'm a lover of Elf's Tinted Moisturizers with SPF 15 in Rosy Beige. This is the perfect shade for my skin. I have tried Apricot Beige but that's for someone who is a Medium skin tone. It's not heavy on my skin as well being that its quite oily. I would use the SPF 45 on top and no problems with breaking out or allergic reactions. Elf has become my staple makeup company!

If you apply this over Dr. Denese's (qvc.com) SPF30 with the natural tint of melanin in it, you won't need foundation even in the winter!

Studio Blushes
Anyone know the Studio Blush names for the shades lined up in 2 rows when you click zoom/larger image? THANKS

Sorry, what??
Commented by FashionDiva 2 years ago
The first two images of Studio Blushes that you see when selecting zoom/larger image show all the containers open and in line, but without the color names. Trying to match them to the individual images with the names which are smaller.

SPF45 Powder Studio Line
This is similar to Tinted Mineral Veil, however, MV doesn't have 45 spf. Additionally, Studio Line's has a beautiful gold (fine as if jet milled) fleck that imparts a radiance like that of upscale face tints by Smashbox and Laura Geller. The ingredient deck also great. I'm deleting all other make up company emails these days, no comparison for the price.

New colors...
Has anyone tried the new colors yet? For example, the new eye quads?

No, but I'm anxious to know too because I've just purchased the Encyclopedia's and they're from the same line: E.L.F. and I love the quality, colors, all of it!
Commented by Jolene4Him 2 years ago
no, but i am pretty excited to try them out!!!!!!!

Encyclopedia's
Got all three; anyone know what the color names are? I can't believe E.L.F. didn't put an insert in them; how are you suppose to reorder a favorite color? Ulta stickers the backside of their individual pots in kits and that's smart.

I placed two orders and they both shipped ten days ago. I got one three days ago and the other one still hasn't gotten here. I keep getting the same msg from ELF that it is FedEx.

they sound messy r they?

Anyone else experience shipping issues where you can't track and elf blames fedex and visa versa?

The only problems I have had are when I take the $6.95 (or $1.98 special) S&H as it takes forever to get your order. You sort of have to just order it and forget about it until it arrives. It's better to pay the extra $5.00 and get it within 3 days or so, I say or so as sometimes it's about 2-3 days later if it's a weekend. It's worth it in everyway, believe me!
Commented by PoppitDoll 2 years ago
Will do! This time FedEx WAS TRULY the bad guy! Couldn't track, but finally arrived on 7th day!

Has anyone tried their professional line yet?? I personally use all types of different make up, I cam across ELF years ago but never really tried it.
Commented by sammiebz 2 years ago
The pro line is hit and miss for me. Eye and lip products are fair to good, brushes are good. Face products fair to poor. I prefer studio and mineral, personally.
Commented by lucyinthesky 2 years ago
I really like it but i have very fair skin and the powder is not light enough but other than that its really good!

No, you can't. Plus the cosmetics are just as highly pigmented as the higher end cosmetics and last just as long on. I love their products.
