What Does "Beauty" Mean to You?

At e.l.f. we believe in taking a holistic approach to beauty and wellness, and our products reflect our thinking. e.l.f.’s philosophy is that beauty comes from within. It's our goal to enable every woman to look and feel her personal best through the perfect blend of both the inner and outer person.

Beauty comes from feeling and being your best, an inner confidence that translates to the outer-world as attractiveness.

  • Beauty is an abstract notion linked to many different aspects. Beauty is an experience, a sensorial  experience that procures pleasure or visual satisfaction. Beauty comes from the shape, the visual aspect, the movement.

  • Beauty is subjective. Society builds the criteria for what beauty is. For instance, in Europe, during the 16th century, a beautiful womanwas a woman with many curves. During the 18th century, women hadto be really white, now look, we have to be tan and skinny!

  • Beauty coms from the inside as well as the outside, it is personal. Make-up doesn't make a person pretty, it gives a self confidence that makes a person pretty... "Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder"

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder means that everyone sees beauty differently. what one person thinks is beautiful might be ugly to someone else

beauty is seen in the wrinkles of my 68 year old grandmother. Crows feet and laugh lines are apparent due to the smiles she gave. She was content with what she had and gave all she could. Years of children, grand children, hard work and love created those wrinkles and not a day goes by that we don't miss her.

There is no real definition. Everyones perception of beauty is different hence "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

Beauty is being comfortable in your own skin, appreciating the beauty of others, but loving the beauty that is yours..
